"Oriental Indo Syrian Gouache Polo Game Painting Frame In Gilded Brass Micromosaic Marquetry"
Spectacular Indo-Syrian gouache painting depicting four men on horseback polo game in a wooded landscape. It is framed all around by a very large frieze of polychrome flowers on a blue background, which is highlighted with fine blue patterns. Entirely hand-painted. Very beautiful polychromy! Signed lower left. All in its solid wood frame of fine quality, entirely inlaid with geometric patterns of gilded brass for the most part including on its thickness (see photo). A multitude of small triangles of different colors and materials constitute the decoration formed of stars and stylized flowers. The presence of several bone threads completes the decoration of this sumptuous frame. At the right rear corner, a round mark in ink is affixed. It has both a hanging ring and a crutch allowing it to be hung on the wall or presented on a piece of furniture. Made in the 20s / 30s. Dimensions: Height / width: 41.5 cm x 35.5 cm overall Central decoration: 18 cm x 12 cm Frame width: 6.5 cm Thickness: 2.5 cm Weight: 1.850 kg Very good condition. No missing parts!
