""diane" Illustrated By Henri De Linares In 1972 For The "h" House In Paris"
"Diane", illustrated in 1972 by Henri de Linares, French animal painter born in 1904, died in 1987. This illustrator was a regular and prolific designer for the Maison Hermès. Reissued in 1979, this silk twill square with hand-rolled edges, on a bottle green background, features a beautiful study of flintlock rifles, crossbows, and richly decorated oriental Miquelet pistols, in honor of Diana the huntress whose representation can be seen on the powder horn. The name of this scarf is centered at the top, while the name of the Maison Hermès and its copy are centered at the bottom. This beautiful square, in tones of bottle green, orange, yellow and brown, is in beautiful original condition of conservation and use, both in terms of the silk and the colors, which are still very fresh and well saturated (see details in the photos).
