Large and beautiful pair of adoring angels. Beautiful sculptures in gilded, silvered and polychrome wood from the beginning of the 18th century. One of the angels has his hands joined in prayer, the second has them crossed in front of his chest over his heart. The two figures are kneeling on clouds. They both wear golden tunics, draped in the Antique style, and girded with a cord. The area of clouds behind the subjects represents a flower, chiseled in the thick white, before gilding. These angels were most likely to frame a scene from the Passion on an altar. Note, worm work, accidents and losses. Other photos on request. Total height: 52 cm
