This large 19th century bust in polychrome cast aluminum, comes from a "full-length" sculpture variously treated, entitled "Enchaînée" and previously executed by Emmanuel Villanis (1858 - 1914).
A renowned sculptor of the "belle époque", prolific and in love with feminine forms, he used bronze, spelter and cast aluminum to immortalize his numerous productions, hymns to women and the emotions they provoke...
Very good general condition, with some alterations of the polychromy due to age.
Mobile brass ear rings; signature on the chest.
