Bronze with red ochre patina - A crack in the marble base - delivered with its paulonia box. Born in Chiba Prefecture. In 1923 he enrolled in the arts and crafts sculpture courses. Then Tokyo School of Fine Arts; graduated in 1931. He produced many female figures and animal sculptures. He received training characteristic of the early 20th century, with a strong influence of European sculpture. Thus the vibrant surface treatment evokes European Art Deco productions. From 1930 he exhibited regularly at the Teiten (Salon). Works at the Chiba Prefectural Museum of Art, and the Tokyo Museum of Modern Art. He produced monuments until the early 90s. Decorated with the Order of the Sacred Treasure. He died at the age of 103. Retrospective in 2005 and 2018 in Chiba. About the art of the nude, the sculptor said: "I am fascinated by the beauty of naked women." The demanding art of sculpture is relentlessly perfected through the art of the female nude."
