Exquisite antique porcelain figurines of a gypsy boy and girl, crafted by Royal Dux, Bohemia, in the late 19th century. The girl is seated, holding a jug, dressed in a flowing green dress with pink and gold accents. The boy, seated on a tree stump, plays a musical instrument and is dressed in a hat, green shirt, and pink trousers. Both figurines rest on round bases featuring intricate patterns and gilded accents, reflecting the romanticized rural themes popular in 19th-century European art.

The bases bear the famous Royal Dux pink triangle mark and the number ‘76,’ indicating an early pattern. Pattern numbers below 100 are highly prized for their quality and value.

Historical background:
Royal Dux porcelain originates from Duchcov (now in the Czech Republic) and was first produced in the mid-19th century. Founded in 1853 by Eduard Eichler, the company gained recognition for its fine porcelain and was named a "purveyor to the imperial and royal court" by Emperor Franz Joseph I in 1896.

Royal Dux earned numerous prestigious awards, including the Grand Prix at the 1900 Paris World Exhibition and a Gold Medal at the 1905 Exhibition in Liège. Their innovative designs and exceptional craftsmanship solidified their reputation as one of Europe’s leading porcelain manufacturers.
