Chalice and its paten in gilded silver. France, circa 1900 Chalice and its paten in gilded silver in the neo-Gothic style. The six-lobed base, highlighted by three fillets, forms an almost flat terrace, chiseled with six circular medallions decorated with rosettes and a cross pattée. It supports a six-lobed shaft decorated with a collar and a massive flattened toric knot, decorated with buttons and water leaves. The cup, slightly conical in shape with a straight edge, is set in a smooth saucer, the upper part of which is surrounded by a wide fillet bearing an inscription in Latin. Minerva hallmarks 950/1000 on the cup, the saucer and on the terrace of the foot. This chalice and its paten were made by the Parisian workshop Bachelet Louis**, goldsmith, around 1850. Height: 24 cm Base diameter: 16 cm Net weight of the chalice: 562 g Paten in silver and gilded silver with engraved decoration of the Pascal Lamb, haloed, holding a banner symbolizing victory. Minerva hallmark 950/1000 Diameter of the paten: 16.2 cm Weight of the paten: 130 g Very good condition, some traces of use. The chalice is in perfect condition, without damage, shocks or scratches. Beautiful original gilding on the inside of the cup. Bachelet Louis: specialist in the manufacture of works intended for the church (1844-1877).
