"Dubois Paul (1829-1905) - Saint John The Baptist Child"
Large bronze sculpture with original brown patina, it is signed on the terrace P. DUBOIS Rome 1861, F. BARBEDIENNE Fondeur and bears the Collas mechanical reduction stamp. DUBOIS Paul (1829-1905) French painter and sculptor, entered the School of Fine Arts in 1858, stayed there for a year then spent 4 years in Italy, the Florentine sculpture of the Renaissance will definitively mark his art. He debuted at the Salon in 1857 and exhibited his Saint John the Baptist and his Florentine Singer respectively in 1864 and 1865, these two works will make his glory.
