Rare sculpture in gilded and patinated bronze depicting Ariadne asleep resting on a red griotte marble base.
Empire period, probably a work of the workshop of Pierre-Philippe Thomire.

Pierre-Philippe Thomire (1751 - 1853) is one of the most important bronze makers, chasers and gilders of the Empire period !

A French work circa 1800.

This extraordinary sculpture is in its original condition ; to be cleaned.
A small gilded bronze rosette is missing (see photo).

An object for the true First Empire enthusiast/collector !
