HOODED COLLAR OF A NON-COMMISSIONED OFFICER OF THE 23RD ALGERIAN TIRAILLEUR REGIMENT, Third Republic. 28292 In light blue wool cloth, formed of a large rotunda and a hood. Closing straight on the front by means of four tabs in cloth from the bottom with buttonholes and as many blackened wooden buttons mounted on identical cut tabs. Between the first and second tab, rank braid in gold Hungarian point braid. Long piece of linen reinforcement, at shoulder level. Manufacturer's stamp, barely legible, of assignment to the "23rd Tir. Alg.", and date stamp, "1934". Height of the cloth without the hood: 64 cm France. Third Republic. Very good condition. Note: The 23rd Algerian Rifle Regiment, an infantry regiment belonging to the Army of Africa, was the 3rd Algerian Rifle March Regiment in 1914, then renamed the 23rd Algerian Rifle Regiment in 1920. In 1928, stationed in Metz, it belonged to the 42nd Division and then to the 6th Army Corps.
