Krementz Art Nouveau Clover Enamel And Gold Pendant Brooch

This brooch has a triple function: Brooch, watch hook with the hook on the back, at the bottom, and pendant with the hinged and foldable bail. A matte enamel on yellow gold makes this lucky 4-leaf clover very naturalistic! It is adorned with a diamond set with claws in its center, the yellow gold setting is marked on the clasp 14k with the mark of the American manufacturer Krementz. On the back of a leaf are engraved the initials TCK.

Georges Krementz founded his jewelry manufacturing company in Newark in 1866. He then designed and produced gold buttons for removable collars. This product which brought him among the best known names in jewelry in the USA became his manufacturer's mark which is stamped on the clasp of this brooch. He created at the beginning of the 20th century, at the turn of Art Nouveau, a line of exquisite and trendy gold, enamel and colored stone jewelry for fashionable women. The Great Depression led the firm to work exclusively with gold plate and fantasy.
