COMMEMORATIVE PENNANT OF THE BATTALION OF SAILORS OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD OF THE FIRST EMPIRE, Return of the Ashes Period, 1840. 18790-2 Double-sided blue silk pennant of rectangular shape, H 29.5 cm, width 39 cm, plus a sheath for the 4.5 cm wide pole. It is painted, identically on both sides, in its center with the crowned imperial eagle holding in its talons the sparkling spindle of Jupiter placed on a naval anchor, of the identical design of the shako plate model 1809 of said battalion. H of the eagle 22.5 cm, width 16.5 cm. This emblem is painted brown and gold with the crown jewels green, scarlet and blue. The painting technique is identical to the regimental flags. France.
