Embossed Iron Shield, Renaissance Style, Many Elements From Henry II Period, Circa 1550

Parts of a shield from French Renaissance, circa 1550, these are fairly thin iron sheets, tool embossed of male and female profiles in leafy arches, rosettes, feathered heads, decorations distributed harmoniously and nailed to this thick wooden support, from the 19th century, (date of its reconstruction).
On centre of this shield, the probable Monogram of Henry II, French king, under a closed crown.
A beautiful rescue, which is not without flaws: there were some gaps, which were, in the lower part, replaced by iron from other sources, not very visible. The replaced sheets were not all in good condition, sometimes fragments, this nailed patchwork shows lifting and folds more visible in photo than to the eye,
But it is a superb piece, decorative, historical and… unique.
