It is topped with a sculpture called "Flying Mercury", after Jean de Bologne. Depicted as a naked young man, flying through the air, pushed underfoot by the breath of Zephir's head, Mercury holds a caduceus in his left hand and in his right hand what must have been an oil lamp (missing).
