Rare set of flat-ribbed crystal water carafes. Table service of King Louis-Philippe at the Château de Fontainebleau. Domed in shape, these carafes are cut and engraved in the center with the interlaced monogram of King Louis-Philippe (LP) under the royal crown. One of them bears the initial F to designate one of the official residences of the royal family, the Château de Fontainebleau. The other bears no official residence mark and was perhaps used during official trips and journeys. These carafes with flared necks were intended for serving water, and therefore did not have stoppers. Height: 20.2 cm, diameter: 12.8 cm Provenance: - Louis-Philippe I, King of the French at the Château de Fontainebleau - Sale of the Administration of the Estates, 1854. Condition: slight chips on one of the necks.
