JAPAN - Edo period (1603-1868). Half-mask of samurai called "Mempo" in wrought iron lacquered in cinnabar red (slight losses). Pronounced chin, mobile nose, well-stocked mustache in horsehair, pierced nostrils, sweat hole under the chin. The interior lacquered red (slight accidents). Four-stage gorget in brown lacquered iron on the outside, black on the inside and blue silk.
Dimensions: 23 x 17 x 11 cm.
