Around 1940 Helvetia introduced the caliber 820, a central second version of the 82A. The 820 movement is relatively rare and was only fitted in military Helvetias and some watches that Helvetia made for Helbros, both dating from 1943. This type of watch will be delivered in the middle of the war to the American Ministry of Defense and will participate in the major offensives of the allies of 1943 and 1944. Helvetia will also deliver approximately 5000 watches to the US Army just before the Normandy landings to the Sherman armored units under the command of General Patton.
