"Painted Panel: Little Bacchus Having Fun"
Rectangular panel painted in brown wash on porcelain, early 20th century. In an antique landscape, 5 little Bacchus are having fun. The one on the left, perched on a square column supporting a fire pot, is lying on his stomach and holding a bunch of grapes. A little further away, 2 others sitting side by side are tasting grapes while the next one is brandishing a bunch while leaning on a goat. Finally, the one on the far right is caressing the goat. In the center of the composition, an overturned ewer on the ground leaves no doubt as to what it contained and its use. This charming, very well-made scene is in good condition. 24X 48.5cm
