Rare silver-plated reliquary containing a relic of Saint Germaine Cousin, also known as Germaine de Pibrac Description The relic is presented in a pretty medallion-type frame, chiseled and decorated with silver-plated scrolls, with a fixing ring. The relic of the Saint (ex Cane?) is placed on a red fabric background decorated with four gildings and bears a Latin label typographical S. Germ. Cous. The back of the reliquary opens, revealing its wax seal and the threads ensuring its authenticity. Condition The reliquary is in good condition. The ecclesiastical seal and the fixing threads are sealed. About the Saint Saint Germaine Cousin is a French Catholic saint born in 1579. Suffering from a congenital disease that made her lame and deformed, she lived a difficult life, marked by poverty. She found refuge and solace in prayer and religious devotion, distinguishing herself by her kindness and compassion towards others. She died on June 15, 1601, at the age of 22, and was canonized by the Catholic Church in 1867. Today, she is venerated as the patron saint of shepherds, the disabled, and victims of abuse.
