The old oil painting is dated 1923 and signed in the lower right-hand corner D'Entraygues French painter of naturalistic
landscapes and family scenes. Charles Bertrand D'Entraygues (1851-1929) was born in Brive-la-Gaillarde (Corrèze),
in 1871 he attended the ‘École des Beaux-Arts’ in Paris where he had Isidore Pils as a teacher.
From 1876 he began exhibiting at the ‘Salon des Artistes de Paris’, exhibiting at the Salons
almost every year until 1906. In 1899, he received an honourable mention for one of his paintings.
The oil painting is dressed in a beautiful carved and lacquered wooden frame, called Montparnasse.
The ancient painting and the frame are carefully and professionally restored.
