"Openwork And Silver Corozo Seal Stamp, Early 19th Century"
Large openwork seal beautifully carved in corozo. The polylobed pommel is decorated in its center with a rosette of acanthus leaves. Followed by a capital of acanthus leaves on a row of pearl motif. The body of the handle is carved, chiseled and openworked with a motif of a flaming pot and a bird with open wings in an interlacing of volutes of branches, leaves and grape vine shoots. Two dog heads are hidden in the decoration, forming the end of the branches. The body tapers into a column to form the foot comprising the round silver seal in the name of Louis Cabrit. Very rare large corozo seal of very beautiful execution with different symbols. Hallmarked on the silver matrix with the seal of the hare's head hallmark on the right surrounded by a border.
