"Scribe XVIII"
Exceptional piece of furniture from the East of France (Alsace or Dauphiné) and dating from the 18th century. This writing desk, made up of three independent parts, is entirely inlaid with rarely seen trompe l'oeil geometric patterns, giving it a certain relief and all its value. The eight false drawers and the door of the upper body are, in reality, only two openings (one small and one double mounted on hinges) allowing access to two shelves. The central sloping desk opens with a flap, serving as a writing desk, revealing 6 drawers and a niche with a shelf (secret drawers are hidden inside). The two doors of the low sideboard give access to a shelf. It is especially the marquetry patterns of these doors that are remarkable and original by the effect of volume that they represent. The whole rests on ball feet carved with claws. This piece of furniture is in very good condition. Transport quote on request by specifying the city.
