"Art Deco Boudoir Painting Elegant Art Near Louis Icart Engraving Signed Jean Hardy (1880- ?)"
Engraving on paper 15 cm x 15 cm preserved under glass and sold with its frame 28 cm x 28 cm signed lower right Jean Hardy and numbered to the left of the signature 118, dating from the beginning of the 20th century representing an elegant woman from the same period. Sold with invoice-certificate. Perfect original condition. Jean Hardy born in 1880 is a major figure in art deco engraving or also called Boudoir Art by our English-speaking friends. We find Jean Hardy alongside William Albert, Maurice Millière and of course Louis Icart in an English book entitled Boudoir Art The Celebration Of Life written by Clifford P. Castani who devotes a few pages to him (see photos).
