"Namur 1739-1749, Six Spoons And Six Forks , Goldsmith Thomas Bouchon, Zualart Coat Of Arms"
Very rare set of six forks and six spoons with coat of arms in solid silver. Each cutlery set is hallmarked with the same master goldsmith's mark (Thomas Bouchon, who became a master in 1739) and bears the same hallmark of the city of Namur with the year 1737. This hallmark was in force from 1737 to 1749. This hallmark shows the rampant lion of the county of Namur surmounted not by a crown but by the "briquet de Bourgogne", links which made up the collar of the order of the golden fleece and which took their shape from this steel blade against which the flint was thrown to make a spark. The magnificent heraldic engravings on the cutlery date from the same period and represent the coat of arms of the Zualart family, former owners of the Château de Suarlée. The set weighs 850 grams.
