"Devil Pyrogen Duo "
Two magnificent bronze pyrogens representing a winged demon mounted on a double base made of 2 different marbles. Probably of Italian origin, 19th century. Description The representation of a winged demon at the top is characterized by a grotesque or demonic face, often associated with mythological or satanic themes. The inscriptions visible on the base of the object seem to be symbols or characters of esoteric or mystical inspiration, possibly an imitation of ancient languages (such as Egyptian hieroglyphs, Nordic runes, or other stylized writings). We can distinguish motifs such as a bird or triangular figures, which recall certain Egyptian hieroglyphs or stylized elements. These inscriptions do not seem to belong to a real or immediately identifiable language but could be decorative or have a symbolic meaning linked to the object. The base is composed of marble in two colors. About This could be an inkwell, a pen holder, or a ritual or esoteric object but also probably a pyrogen. These objects were popular in the 19th century or early 20th century, at a time when artistic objects mixed with mysticism were in vogue. Condition Very good condition Do not hesitate to contact me for any additional information concerning this object.
