"Venavi Ewe Statue"
Statuette of the Ewe cultural group (Togo), commonly called
Venavi and used in the context of the cult of twins like the
Ibeji among the Yoruba of Nigeria. This female statuette has her hairstyle painted black like the representation of her shoes. There is also a golden earring on the right ear. It has a slightly "honeyed" patina of use. The object is authentic and has no restoration, its antiquity dates back to the middle of the 20th century.
