Object description :

"Rose Water Bottle, 19th Century, Iran, Persia, Copper Chiseled With Monabatt-kari Peonies"
Extraordinary rose water bottle in formerly tinned copper chiseled with repoussé Fine floral decoration for the entire piece circa 1850 -1900.
This large copper bottle presents us in its height nine levels of decoration listed below:
# An everted & pearled lip
# Lip followed by a neck decorated with a succession of flowered mandorlas.
# Below a swollen base of turbaned torsos.
# Just before the body, a frieze of flowers like a carpet border.
# The wide shouldered body presents us with twelve large gadroons each sketching a torso and engraved with an exuberant decoration of branches, flowers, birds ...
     # Six gadroons each present a "monabatt-kari" peony chiseled in relief in a mandorla with large halberd-shaped pendants, in the height.
     # The other six gadroons each feature a large peony covering a bird, accompanied by many other flowers. Note: No two decorations are the same. # The base of the belly is engraved with flowers in small pendant cartouches arising from the spaces between each gadroon.
# The fretel of our stopper ends with an impressive point giving size to the whole.
The fretel, beaded identically to the lip, is largely decorated with flowers: roses, peonies, almonds, interlacing.
The neck and belly of the object are covered with decorations, the copper patina formerly tinned, is superb, for a rare piece created in the second part of the 19th century.
The stopper, placed upside down, allows to receive a quantity of perfume by serving as a diffuser.
It maintains great stability inside thanks to its domed shape which is placed in the curved shape of the neck and the long point.
Originally from Persia, Iran, probably from the Tabriz region, province of Eastern Azerbaijan (Iranian Azerbaijan) North-west of Iran.
This region, like the Isfahan region, has always produced highly developed and high-quality copperware work on a red copper base, inspired by the miniatures created under the Tabriz school and the Isfahan school.
A very beautiful piece, out of the ordinary.
This large bottle was created under the Kadjar or Kadjar dynasty
(Qājār, Qadjar, Qajar, Persian: قاجار) It is a Turkmen dynasty that reigned over Iran from 1786 to 1925.
The finesse of the copper carvings shows the dexterity of Persian engravers often of Armenian origin.
.These wonderful coppers and brasses, were under the Safavid and Kadjar dynasties, an eminent alternative to silver and they enjoyed the same status.
These objects lived as the centerpieces of a Persian palace.
Set of great delicacy, reflecting the taste and refinement of the Persian nobility under the Kadjar period, "the Empire of roses".
