"Games Table, Tric Trac, Louis XVI Desk Stamped M. Ohneberg In Mahogany"
Elegant Louis XVI period mahogany and mahogany veneer tric-trac game table forming a desk, stamped on one of the uprights by Mr. Ohneberg for Martin Ohneberg who was received as a master in Paris in 1773. His production is characterized by racy lines in the Transition style but especially Louis XVI, of a high quality of execution in the service of classicism. The removable top of this table is darkened with green leather with a gold vignette on one side and on the other with a green game mat, revealing a tric-trac game veneered with ebony. It opens at the waist with a small drawer and a false drawer on each long side. It rests on four tapered fluted legs ending in bronze sabots with casters.
Good condition, restorations of use and maintenance, later leather, later pull buttons and lock.
