Cretaceous Ammonite Fossils From Russia

Beautiful fossil block containing two ammonites with pearly reflections, affiliated with the genus Kachpurites (Family Polyptichitidae, with a small deep umbilicus and bifurcated ribs (characteristic of "perisphinctean" ammonites).
Geological period : Tithonian (-149 to -145 million years approximately), last stage of the Jurassic.
Deposit: Russia.
Maximum diameter of the block: 7.5 cm Total height with base: 11.5 cm

The burial of these organisms in fine sediments allowed the fine preservation of the shells, as well as the conservation of the mother-of-pearl of the shells of these cephalopods. Beautiful authentic collector's item, rare. From an old private collection.
