This fine Georgian English sterling silver caster, dated 1744, features a baluster-shaped body adorned with hand-chased floral and scroll decoration. The piece stands on a raised, round pedestal base with a fluted and ruffled design.
The pull-off lid is beautifully pierced with intricate spiral panels of alternating shapes, decorative floral patterns, and engraved detailing, and is topped with a steeple finial. A full set of clear hallmarks is present on the underside of the base.
