Miniature Candy Box Love Theme Late 18th Century

This pretty round ivory box is decorated on the lid with an oval miniature under domed glass with a sentimental symbolic decoration of love: a lady offers a crown of flowers to Cupid perched on a column. She also holds a dove. The scene is set in a wooded landscape with fresh colors under a blue sky, in the left background a temple throwing rays, at the foot of the column where Cupid is, a basket of flowers.
The ornate oval frame is in beautiful quality gilded metal.
The miniature is in perfect condition!
The glass is original.
This box dating from the 18th century, around 1790, is a charming example of the symbolic love gifts used at the time!

Please note: Stabilized crack on the edge and as some small chips on the edge of the lid (visible on pictures).
