The scene represents a woman lifted up by a man with in the background two couples praying or acclaiming the central characters.
This is probably a miracle of Christ and more probably the miracle of the woman with a hemorrhage.
The style and type of this plaque are typical of German production of the 17th century which was used as decorative elements of objects of greater importance such as boxes, cabinets or even chess boards.
The scene is superbly made, the characters are still treated according to the codes of mannerisms with serpentine lines and an exacerbated movement. The engraving is very fine, with many details and remarkable work of shading.
Magnificent small old plaque, most probably from the 17th century and German, made with care and talent.
