A traveling ceramicist, Dauphine SCALBERT completed her apprenticeship in Pierre Mestre's studio in La Borne in 1973. The following year, she began a long journey that led her to practice ceramics at the Harvard Radcliffe Pottery Studio, Cambridge (USA), in Korea in a traditional pottery, in Japan, Colombia and Mexico.
After 20 years of traveling, research and experimentation, she opened her studio in 1994 in Puisaye-Forterre where she has lived and worked since then.
Dauphine Scalbert has shown her work in around twenty exhibitions, both personal and collective, leads conferences and has written numerous articles in the specialized press. A great technician and scholar, she prioritizes her research and training activities over her ceramic production, which therefore remains rare.
