"Jacques Dufrane 'winged Victory' Brutalist Welded Steel Sculpture, Ca 2000"
JACQUES DUFRANE
"The Victory of Samothrace"
Brutalist sculpture, welded steel assembly with patina, ca. 2000. Perfect condition.
Artist by vocation but technician by training and founder at heart, Jacques Dufrane drew inspiration from his professional environment. Using small industrial parts as the raw material for his creations, his assemblages are, above all, deeply autobiographical. They act as memories and traces, reflecting his life as a founder. Each piece tells a story, extending and giving continuity and meaning to his journey. In return, this life experience gives his work its distinctive style.
