"Max Le Verrier Art Deco Sculpture Lamp"
Elegant Art Deco lamp sculpture by Max Le Verrier (1891-1973) with Paris studio stamp. Cubist style structure in cast iron with antique green bronze patina, animated by a female figure depicting an odalisque dressed in a loincloth, it dominates at the top of a black veined marble pedestal sculpted in a pyramid shape, her arms outstretched brandishing an illuminating sphere in crackled glass. Dimensions: 44 cm high X 20 cm wide. Good general condition with slight superficial wear related to age. Good electrical working order. Designed around 1928 this lamp is listed and titled "Enigme" represented in the book: "Art Deco" by Eric Knowles. Literature on the artist: "Art Deco sculpture" written by Alistair Duncan.
