Franz Bibus (?) Rare Cigarette Case In Sterling Silver Enameled And Vermeil. Austria, Art Deco

Very beautiful Art Deco period case in enameled solid silver.

The case is rectangular with small rounded sides.
It is in plain silver except for the charming enameled decoration on the lid.
This decoration refers us to tales or legends, with a forest landscape where a wolf and a young girl face each other. A squirrel and a bird also animate the scene.

This "silhouette" decoration is very rare on silver cases, and even more so with this charming theme letting the imagination sail towards fantastic stories and tales.

The interior is in vermeil.

The box is hallmarked:
. 900 for the silver title
. A head of Diana with the number 2 in an irregular hexagon: hallmark of Austro-Hungarian silver with a title of 900/° used between 1866 and 1922
. Goldsmith's mark: FB, probably for Franz Bibus
