Jean Bernard Trotzier was born in Hayange, Moselle, in 1950.

He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Metz.

He is a painter of typical scenes, landscapes, and seascapes.
This plein-air landscape painter specializes in country scenes, peasants in fields, busy farms, as well as views of Paris and Venice. His views of Paris were highly sought-after.

He worked on the canvas from the motif, using touches and glazes.

He has exhibited in Paris, Nantes, Strasbourg, Lille, Honfleur, Reims, Metz and in Japan, Germany, the United States and Switzerland.
