Clock commemorating the discovery (by Ramsden 1768) of the production of static electricity by friction on leather cushions produces electricity stored in the Leyden jar.
A female figure receives a discharge causing a concussion.
The base is decorated with a bas-relief on the theme of science.
The clock rests on four spinning feet.
White enamel dial, movement with hour and half-hour strike, wire suspension.
