Wooden Mold, Embracing Couple, Louis XIII Period, Signed With Number 4

Superb front mold (it used to match the back mold with 2 pegs), representing a couple of lovers entwined standing on an oval mound.
It is also a fashion figure of period, circa 1650, see hairstyles and clothes, very carefully sculpted.
Icing on the cake, mold is hot iron signed, on 2 walls by the famous "four of number", therefore a licensed professional sculptor. (See on last photo the nice Avignon research of these signs that have remained mysterious).
The sugar or almond paste statuette that it allowed to obtain dominated wedding cake.
Superb object, fruit wood heart is superb, barely a few holes on bottom, beautiful patina.
Finding such an object more than 3 centuries old is a joy.
