"Venus: Gilded Bronze, 16th Century"
Gilded bronze sculpture, Venice around 1600. It represents Venus coming out of the bath; a cloth draped around her hips hardly conceals her anatomy and a fish wraps around her legs. This elegant sculpture rests on a cylindrical column on a square base in lapis lazuli dating from the end of the 19th century. Total height: 25cm Sculpture height: 14.5cm Wear of the gilding.
