Tree and bush rug, hand-knotted wool around 1980.
This piece measures 120 cm wide by 176 cm long, 185 cm with the fringes which are in very good condition.
The light effects on the rug are due to the addition of silk and also thanks to the specific treatment of the wool used for these rugs.
## In very good condition (almost perfect), wool of the finest quality for the velvet, impeccable fringes and edges.
This magnificent Indo-Persian carpet takes up the criteria of ancient Persian decorations, knotted with great finesse and a superb quality of wool mixed with silk.
Around 1980, we can hardly imagine the immense work to knot such a marvel.
The quality of these pieces is not to be demonstrated, the work is fine, precise and durable over time.
These carpets are inspired by old carpets with garden decorations.
They are therefore inspired by the parks surrounding the palaces of the Shahs and use a symbolism of paradise, presenting a field covered with various trees represented in a very realistic way, with a predilection for cypresses which alternate with flowering bushes.
The composition usually provides for an oriented arrangement as in this example or gravitating around a central medallion.
In the 17th century, a great symmetry reigned on this type of carpet, in horizontal rows.
Note the very beautiful composition of the border. The materials used are of the highest quality: the wool is fine and soft, taken from the neck and under the belly of the lambs (first shearing) it makes up the velvet knotted on a fine cotton for the weft.
This carpet is clean, the wool is knotted admirably and finely tight as these carpets always are.
It reveals to us nuances full of contrasts, very many colors, including many blues, red, almond green, black and ivory .... .It is surrounded by a border grouping together foliage and large stylized flowers.
Traditional wool carpet, comfortable and of great passage.
The nuances underline this learned floral design in the great tradition of Persian art. Persian art that is also found in Mughal art, inspired by the miniatures of the school of Tabriz and Herat
