Silver pocket watch with chime, signed Du Bois et Fils, first half of the 19th century. The Du Bois et Fils house has been producing mechanical watches since 1785. Next to Geneva and La Chaux de Fonds, Le Locle is one of the three most important traditional watchmaking centres in Switzerland, where the Du Bois house operates. This house still exists today.
