Jo DAVIDSON 1950 Bronze Bust of John D. Rockefeller 3rd on black marble base.

This rare bronze bust was sculpted by the greatest of American sculptors, Jo Davidson. This same artist had already sculpted two other sitters bearing the same name, his father and his grandfather, the very famous founder of the Rockefeller dynasty. 

The artist kept a foundry piece of his works and we can see our bust at the center of the wall in the attached photo of the workshop of his Becheron manor near Tours. We can also see a photo of the sitter giving a check for the construction of the United Nations headquarters on land that he had gifted. We also see the sculptor in his Parisian workshop as well as sculpting Charlie Chaplin and President Eisenhower.
