Solid mahogany coffee table with marquetry of various woods decorated with flowers and poppy leaves. "Pavots" model referenced in the book and catalogue raisonné "Majorelle" by A. Duncan, ed. Thames and Hudson 1991. Work in very good condition, french polish. Usual restoration to the marquetry. Art Nouveau period. Usual pyrographed signature of Majorelle on the top, partly erased but distinguishable. Note that an identical pedestal table is in the collections of the Musée d'Orsay (acquired in 2010) and listed under inventory number 157974.
