"Engraved Silver Box, Germany Circa 1900"
Rectangular silver box with rounded corners and a flat bottom. The lid is entirely engraved with foliage scrolls and decorated in its center with a silver-gilt medallion decorated with repoussé, representing a scene with three putti swimming in the sea in the company of mythological fish, one brandishing a caduceus and another holding a torch. The four corners of the lid are decorated with clasps with grotesque heads. The perimeter is surrounded by acanthus friezes. 800/1000 silver, probably German work around 1900. French control hallmarks "swan". Length: 7.4 cm Width: 5.5 cm Height: 1 cm Weight: 52 g Perfect condition.
