"Rocaille Reliquary With Two Relics - Early 19th Century "
A work from southern Germany around 1800. Resting in a rocaille frame in gilded and embossed bronze, it covers a wooden core. A word that could not be more appropriate for the purpose of this piece! Resting on two side feet, the central part houses a filigree decoration in gold and silver thread centered on an Agnus Dei surrounded by two bagged ex-ossibus relics.
The phylacteries indicate that Saint Lucius and Saint Fidel are thus present, both martyrs of the first centuries.
On the back are four seals of religious congregation authenticating the presence of our relics.
