"André Maire" - Madagascar 1966 - charcoal, ink on paper French painter, born in 1898 in Paris and died in 1985. He was a student of Emile Bernard. Emile Bernard became the mentor of the young painter. He entered the studio of André Devambez, and the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts, then the Grande Chaumiere, where he met the engraver Albert Decaris, the sculptor Prost and the painter Roger Nivelt. André Maire travels the world armed with paper, pencils and brushes. The works of André Maire are present in many museums.
