Pau, Auguste Bassy, circa 1841-1844, folio, 10 color lithographs including an illustrated title., Half-calf with corners, black chamois cloth covers, gilt title along the spine and gilt title on the first cover. Magnificent work "edited and lithographed by Auguste Bassy in Pau" and "printed by Lemercier in Paris" of which there are very few copies, with several prints and different combinations of plates. This copy includes in order of appearance: "Souvenir des Eaux-Bonnes | Souvenir des Eaux-Chaudes - Retour d'une chasse à l'Izard | Costumes pyrénéens - Danse aux Eaux-Bonnes | Pauvres à Louvie (Vallée d'Ossau) | Costume des Eaux-Bonnes (x 4 pl.) | Guide aux Eaux-Bonnes." The first three plates are genre scenes presented horizontally; the last six plates with one or two characters in costume are presented vertically and numbered from 1 to 6. All the plates in this collection are signed by Eugène Devéria (1805 - 1865), designer and painter. Bears two ex-libris stamps under the title of "Js Liebach Hartmann in Mulhouse": Jacques HARTMANN-LIEBACH (1794-1876), industrialist and owner of the Hartmann Liebach spinning mill located on rue des Champs in Mulhouse.
