"Carved Wooden Bishop. Sixteenth Century."
Great, good-natured Saint Bishop wearing his mitre and enthroned on his low-backed episcopal seat. From the Renaissance period, still marked by Gothic influence, illustrated by the persistence of the broken folds between the prelate's legs. In carved walnut wood that has retained a good part of its polychromy, in good condition considering the period of the object, worm bites are visible on the back but the sculpture is not inhabited.Hands are missing.
Beginning of sixteenth century.
