This floral oil painting on canvas is signed Gruyer Brielman, French painter of landscapes, still lifes and flowers.
Eugénie Claire Gruyer Brielman (1837-1921) was born in Grenoble, studied at the Académie Julian in Paris,
where she was a pupil of Brielmann and Serres. From 1878 she exhibited at the ‘Salon des Artistes Français’ in Paris.
In 1896 and 1900 she received an honourable mention at the ‘Exposition Universelle de Paris’ and
finally a third-class medal in 1899. Some paintings by this artist are kept in the Grenoble museum.
The oil painting is dressed in a 19th century gilded frame.
The oil painting and the gilded frame are carefully and professionally restored.
